West LA- Veteran Affairs The building is one mile long, with two “common areas” for activities, visiting family members, and a dining area. Within the 50,000 sq. ft. spaces, nature, identity, and light are the most important elements. The open cafeteria, allows each veteran to gather with friends and family. The south wall contains indoor trees and rushing water. The west wall allows many of the veterans to eat outside underneath the aluminum canopy. The canopy pierces the 15-foot glazing wall, by allowing the weaving to occur on the dining ceilings. |
